NRS Series 3 Prelim 7

We had an awesome prelim round 7 of Nashville Rising Song Series 3. We had 41 songwriters come out, and randomly picked 21 to perform their song. We again had a strong group of songwriters at this round!

Samantha Rae and Frankie will come back and join 18 other writers for the semi-final round to be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at Tin Roof Midtown. The finals will be held Monday, November 19, 2018 at Tin Roof Midtown.


Larry is a former L.A.-based songwriter, producer, publisher and artist manager, who moved to Nashville about 4 years ago. His work spans Country, Pop, R&B, dance, alt-rock, classic rock, folk, gospel and jazz.

Larry has worked directly, or behind the scenes with, industry giants such as Guns ‘N Roses, Robert Palmer, Don Was, The Call, Vanessa Williams, U2 and others. His song “Wanted Man” just aired recently on the multi-Emmy nominated Netflix show “Grace & Frankie.” He also mentored EDM artist & D.J. Dave Aude (pronounced Auday), who won a Grammy for his remix of Bruno Mars’ hit single “Uptown Saturday Night Funk.”

Larry’s songs have been recorded by artists on Island, RCA, Motown, Atlantic, MCA and Capitol labels. He began his career by winning 69 songwriting awards in the American Song Festival. He later produced demos for Kenny Rogers and Kin Vassey at the famed Lion’s Share Studios, where “We Are the World” was mixed, as well as for Lorimar studios and others.

Larry’s always looking for new talent to write with, produce or manage.

Greg’s music career skyrocketed at a young age in his early 20’s in 1986, as a recording artist on his own record label. Greg continued as a regional artist in Florida until 1994, when he was offered a publishing deal by Sony Tree ATV and moved to Nashville.

Sony Tree ATV published 50 of Greg’s songs and In 2003 he was signed by Erv Woolsey and George Strait as a staff songwriter, where George published 50 of Greg’s songs. Greg has recorded well over 400 of his self written songs and has developed into one of the top producers on Music Row.

Three years ago Greg started his new record label Platinum Records Nashville, producing and releasing Daryle Singletary’s first single to Country radio since the mid 1990’s. Greg was also recording the last singles on Daryle before his untimely passing just months ago.
Greg recently relaunched his own artist career a few years ago and recorded two new records.

His first single off his record went to 82 on the Top 100 Top 40 MediaBase Activator Charts. His current new single “Music’s A Religion” has been the #1 download song on Adult Contemporary radio beating out Beatle, Paul McCartney for the #1 spot 2 weeks in a row and also number #12 In Triple A which is Alternate rock and number #5 on Christian radio.

I’VE CHANGED and MUSIC’S A RELIGION both make the Adult Contemporary Top 10 and #14 streamed and download list. MUSIC’S A RELIGION is now on its 15 week on the Top 10 download by Radio in this genre.

Play MPE recently selected Greg’s company Platinum Records Nashville as being the Top 5 Indie record labels in the world.
